Meet the volunteers
A group of volunteers called “Ireland’s Lithuanians Care” came together in September 2014 with a shared goal - to support children facing cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. We aim to bring together Lithuanians living in Ireland, along with businesses and communities, to help those who need it most.
Our focus is on supporting children and their families in Lithuania, mainly by providing financial help to ease some of the challenges they face during incredibly difficult times.
The idea was born after losing a close friend to cancer. Wanting to make a difference, we were inspired to help children whose carefree childhoods have been disrupted by serious illness. We strive to support families going through one of life’s hardest experiences - a child’s illness, pain, and uncertainty. Everything we do is driven by volunteers who give their time and effort freely.
We believe that if each of us paused, even for a moment, to think about those facing such hardships, the world could become a kinder place!

– FOUNDER
Volunteering is satisfying for some; meaningful for others. Voluntary work increases person's self-esteem. Others see no point in volunteering because they don’t believe that it is possible to change the world. In my opinion, when you help at least one ill child, the world becomes a better place!
